The true colors of a sheer silk chiffon scarf are at their best when the scarf is loosely wrapped on itself as it is wrapped around the neck.
Some scarves may look alike, but they all have their own particular color flow, making them each unique.
Most of the scarves seen here are purchased from the Dharma Trading Co. They are sized at 15” X 60” but after a scarf is washed several times during the dying process the finished size, ironed, may be off by 1-2″ in either direction.
Sometimes I purchase the silk chiffon by the yard and custom cut scarves wider or longer. These have machined edges with silk thread.
Most of the dyes I use are acid dyes, therefore, the color is heat set by steaming.
If you must wash a scarf use only cold water and a gentle soap, like Woolite or Dawn. Don’t soak it, swish it about a few times and then rinse in cold water. Squeeze out in a towel and iron dry. Don’t be afraid to stretch the silk some.
Special Orders
My scarves make beautiful gifts for the special person in your life. If you know their favorite color(s) I am happy to do something custom for you. This could take up to 2 weeks to ship. Often, I am able to give you a choice of two. I will send photos for your selection.
Duplicating an “out of stock” Scarf
If I am doing a ‘duplicate’ of a scarf that is marked sold please understand that I will do my best to match the color and intensity of the item in the image above. However, due to the process the colors may be slightly different from that of the actual item. I will send photos for your approval.
Photos and descriptions are as accurate in representation as possible.
